5 Tips for Finding the Best Luxury Swimwear

by Karen Louis July 26, 2020

It's the middle of summer, but it's not too late to treat yourself. What pairs better with a relaxing vacation than brand new luxury swimwear?

There are new silhouettes, colours, and fabrics hitting the beach this season. The best luxury swimwear in 2020 looks great on any body type. Luxury swimwear is both fashionable   and high quality, and should last beyond one season.

If you're looking for a new luxury item that's on trend, check out the 5 tips below to guide your search.

1. Ornate Swimwear

Ornate swimwear is the definition of luxurious. It may not be the most practical, but it looks expensive. These pieces may come with an accessory like a belt, have cut-outs with patterned hems, or be decorated with embellishments.

The best thing about ornate swimwear is that it's designed to go beyond the beach. Matching an embellished piece of swimwear with the right bottom can transform it into an entire look ready for cocktails at the bar.

2. Mermaid Swimwear

This season, mermaid swimwear looks especially luxe because of the fabric choice -- the trendiest mermaid pieces are ruched in silky satin.

These romantic styles are perfect for laying on the beach, living out Ariel fantasies. The cups of this style are usually shaped with underwire, mimicking a seashell.

3. Tangerine Swimwear

In spring, runways were washed in tangerine. This bold colour choice will stick around as the   most fashionable hue  for summer 2020.

This vibrant colour is perfect for summer, matching the bright sunset as you lay by the pool. It's warm, flattering, and helps your swimwear stand out. It's not a colour choice for the meek and quiet swimwear shoppers.

Take a chance and give your swimwear collection some energy with a tangerine piece.

4. Leggy Swimwear

The ultra leggy swimwear trend is a bold one. It certainly requires a bold bikini wax to pull it off. This silhouette is very reminiscent of Baywatch-era swimwear in the 1980s.

Some leggy pieces this season are cut even higher than the belly button, creating a leg-lengthening effect that is flattering for all body types. However, these pieces aren't ideal for any type of watersports. There is some danger in the crotch staying in place.

5. Covered Up Swimwear

Unlike leggy swimwear, some of the new silhouettes this season are quite modest. They include short sleeve tops and one-pieces, long sleeve tops and one-pieces, shorts, and super high waisted bottoms.

Luxury pieces like   this animal print rash vest  are not only fashionable, but protect your skin from the damaging sun. Destructive tans are out and health is in.

Buying Luxury Swimwear

Luxury swimwear may not be cheap, but it's an investment. It's an act of self-care -- looking good during vacation only enhances the experience. As a luxury item, it should last for seasons and seasons to come.
